One lender's no isn't the whole market's answer. We find out why, and route the case to lenders whose appetite fits better. If the honest answer is "not yet", we'll tell you, and tell you what to fix first.
What happens next
- We find out why. Lenders decline for different reasons: sector appetite, security, trading history or affordability.
- We try lenders that fit. Our panel has more than 100 lenders, and the same case can get a different answer elsewhere.
- We look at the shape of the finance. A different structure, such as asset or invoice finance instead of a term loan, can suit the case better. See What types of business growth finance are there?.
If no lender offers a facility
When "not yet" is the right answer
If repayment depends on a one-off spike, or there's no clear source of repayment, borrowing doesn't fix the problem. It defers it, with interest. We'll tell you what to work on first, such as margins, debtor collection or the order book. Come back six months stronger, and the market prices you differently.
