The schedule

Independent advisory at a fixed fee schedule.

On advisory transactions we are paid by you, not by lenders. That means we recommend the right lender for your deal, not the one that pays us the most. The same schedule applies to growth and acquisition finance, from £25,000 to £10m. This schedule applies to advisory transactions. On simple deals that need no advice, a lender may pay us instead and you pay us nothing; see our commission policy.

Facility portion Rate Retainercredited at completion
First £250,000 3.00% £500
£250,001 – £500,000 2.50% £1,500
£500,001 – £1,000,000 2.00% £2,500
£1,000,001 – £5,000,000 1.50% £3,500
£5,000,001 – £10,000,000 1.25% £5,000

Marginal-rate model: each percentage applies only to the portion of the facility within that band. No cliff edges, no bracket gaming.

Worked example · growth

A £350,000 growth facility: 3% on the first £250k (£7,500) + 2.5% on the remaining £100k (£2,500) = £10,000 gross. Less £1,500 retainer already paid = £8,500 net at completion.

Worked example · acquisition

A £1,000,000 acquisition facility: 3% on the first £250k (£7,500) + 2.5% on £250k–£500k (£6,250) + 2% on £500k–£1m (£10,000) = £23,750 gross. Less £2,500 retainer already paid = £21,250 net at completion.

About the retainer.

  • Nothing is payable unless a lender issues an Agreement in Principle (AIP) and you sign the engagement letter.
  • Paid if you sign the engagement letter, which we issue only once a lender has issued an AIP.
  • Credited in full against the success fee at completion.
  • Non-refundable once paid.
  • The success fee is only payable on drawdown. If all lenders decline, no success fee is charged. bizbritain carries that risk.
