Usually, yes. Most business finance can be repaid early, but whether there's a charge depends on the lender and the product. Your offer and facility agreement will say.
What to look for
- Early repayment charges: some lenders charge a fee for repaying early, often a set percentage or a number of months' interest.
- Fixed-rate breakage costs: fixed-rate loans can carry a cost if you repay early, especially larger ones.
- No charge: many term loans, including many Growth Guarantee Scheme term loans, can be repaid early without a charge.
Asset finance
Ask the provider for a settlement figure. Some hire purchase and lease agreements charge for early settlement.
Revolving facilities and invoice finance
You can usually reduce what you've drawn at any time. Ending the facility itself may need notice, and some facilities have a minimum term.
