You don't need everything before you talk to us. This is what a lender will usually ask for.

Everyone

  • the franchise agreement or disclosure pack
  • the franchisor's cost breakdown and forecast
  • your own business plan and cash flow forecast. See Does the franchisor's forecast replace my own business plan?.
  • proof of identity and address
  • a short summary of your experience
  • where your own contribution will come from

If you're buying a resale

  • the business's recent accounts

If you're expanding

  • how your current units are trading

Lenders may also ask for

  • personal bank statements, and a statement of your assets, liabilities and household spending
  • information about the franchisor, such as its accounts and how its network is performing

For a Start Up Loan

The scheme has its own document list, including a personal survival budget. See What documents do I need?
