Yes. The Start Up Loans Company pays bizbritain a fixed £524 for each completed Start Up Loan. You pay us nothing for our help.
How the payment works
- It's set by the scheme. We're a Start Up Loans Business Support Partner, and the scheme pays a fixed amount for each completed loan.
- It's paid only when a loan completes. We aren't paid for an application that doesn't go ahead.
- It doesn't come from you. There's no fee to apply and no fee for our help. See Are there any fees?
Why it can't influence our advice
It's the same £524 on every completed loan, whatever you borrow. Borrowing more doesn't pay us more, so our advice on how much to apply for isn't affected by it.
Who decides your loan
We help you prepare your application and assess it against the scheme's rules. The scheme's finance partner runs the final checks, issues your loan agreement and provides the money. The scheme sets the loan's rate and terms, not bizbritain. See Is bizbritain the lender? Who provides my Start Up Loan?
How it fits with our other fees
The scheme payment is separate from our advisory fees. On growth and acquisition advice, you pay us under a signed engagement letter and we take zero lender commission on advisory transactions. See What does bizbritain charge? and When can a lender pay bizbritain?.
If anyone asks you to pay
We never ask anyone to pay for a Start Up Loan. If someone does, it isn't us. See Will bizbritain ever ask me to pay for a Start Up Loan?
