The £25,000 Start Up Loan limit applies to each eligible person, not to the business. Up to four eligible owners can each apply, up to £100,000 per business. Above that, or where a Start Up Loan doesn't fit, we look at acquisition and related business finance, typically £25,000 to £10 million.
If you're going into the franchise with partners, each eligible owner can apply for up to £25,000 in their own name. Each loan is personal, and each person is assessed separately.
For bigger investments, buying an established franchise, or adding units, specialist lenders can provide business borrowing. Security, personal guarantees and the contribution you need vary by lender. It can sit alongside your own money and other finance.
Some people use both: a Start Up Loan alongside other finance.
Vans and equipment can often be funded separately through asset finance, secured on the asset itself. See What is asset finance?
