You can borrow up to £2 million per business group under the Growth Guarantee Scheme. Term loans and asset finance can run for up to 10 years; overdrafts, invoice finance and asset based lending for up to 3 years.
Amounts
- Maximum: £2 million per business group, or £1 million if your business is within the scope of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
- Minimum for term loans and overdrafts: £25,001.
- Minimum for asset finance, invoice finance and asset based lending: £1,000.
- Lenders can set higher minimums of their own.
Terms
- Term loans and asset finance: up to 10 years.
- Overdrafts, invoice finance and asset based lending: up to 3 years.
The 10-year maximum and the £54 million turnover cap were announced in July 2026 and now apply across the scheme.
More than one facility
You can have more than one GGS facility across different products, as long as the total stays within your maximum and the lender judges it affordable.
What can reduce your maximum
Longer terms, lower repayments
A 10-year term lowers the monthly repayment compared with a shorter term, but costs more in total. It can make the difference to whether your accounts can carry the facility.
