You repay your Start Up Loan in fixed monthly instalments, by direct debit, to our finance partner. Because the interest rate is fixed, your repayment stays the same for the whole term.

How it works

  • Monthly direct debit from your personal bank account.
  • A fixed amount every month, set out in your loan agreement.
  • A term you choose when you apply, between one and five years.

A repayment holiday at the start

When you apply, you can ask for a capital repayment holiday of three or six months at the start of your loan, subject to assessment. During a capital repayment holiday you don't repay any of the amount you borrowed, though interest still applies. Mention it to your advisor while your application is being prepared.

Who to contact

Our finance partner handles your repayments, payment dates and settlement figures. Their contact details are in your loan agreement. bizbritain doesn't collect repayments, but if you're not sure who to call, ring us on 0800 870 8739.

If money is tight

Contact our finance partner before you miss a payment. See What if I can't make a repayment?.

Paying off early

You can repay part or all of the loan early with no penalty. See Can I repay the loan early?.
